Old Elthamians CC is now 90 years old, and enjoys a close association with Eltham College and the Old Elthamians Association
Our club is based in College Meadow Pavilion (part of Eltham College), on 69 Marvels Lane, London SE12 9PH
We have access to a top quality cricket square, including county-level pitches, and a newly-installed Astro wicket
Our training facilities include 2 lanes of cricket nets (recently refurbished), with access to 4 more lanes (at Eltham College)
OECC has a formal contract with Eltham College for the use of the facilities during the cricket season (April to September)
Off-season training for all our teams is at the Eric Liddell Sports Centre, also part of Eltham College, on Mottingham Lane
Our cricket:
Amongst the seniors, we have 2 Saturday teams (in KCL "Underwood" Div 9 and Div 12), and a Sunday XI on occasions
We have successfully started a new team for Women & Girls (the OEs Marvels), who will play their first softball league in 2025
We have 2 teams in each of Under 9s, 11s, 13s, 15s, and 17s, with a squad of approx. 30 per age group, all managed by parents of players
In addition, we host a very successful All Stars programme, where the numbers have steadily risen to more than 70 children
During the season, the whole club trains on Friday "Club Nights" at College Meadow, with coaching from Top Cricket Academy and other professionals
Our off-season training is also run by/with Top Cricket Academy and professionals, which ensures continuity, strong relationships, and juniors' development
Our membership:
Our seniors section has a mix of Eltham College alumni, local residents, those with historical ties to the club, and many parents of juniors returning to the sport
Our new Women & Girls section is small but growing, with the active involvement of many parents/siblings of juniors, and shows a lot of promise
We have a thriving juniors section with approx. 150 members for the summer season across all juniors age groups, and a further 70+ All Stars
In terms of schools, our juniors are roughly equally split between Eltham College, other private schools (notably Colfe's) and various state schools
Our families cover a very large area in SE London - from Greenwich, Blackheath, Kidbrooke, Lewisham, Hither Green and Lee, to Mottingham, Grove Park, Eltham, Chistlehurst, Bickley, Bromley and Beckenham
We have many dedicated parents who volunteer in different capacities, as committee members, team managers, first aiders, front desk (for Club Nights), etc. - they are the lifeblood for the club's continued success
